Dawn Grunnagle is a professional track and field athlete currently sponsored by Nike, GenUCAN, Phoenix Regen and Sherman Sport and Spine. She has ten years experience as an elementary school teacher and has spent 18 years working with school-aged children to improve their speed and agility with a focus on having correct fluid movement in their running form.  Dawn is an IAAF Bronze Athlete,  3 x Olympic Trials Qualifier, 2012~1500m, 2016, 2020~Marathon.  She recently placed 13th in the 2019 Berlin Marathon with an A-Standard time of 2:33:14.  Dawn raced the 2019 World Masters Athletics Championships and took home Gold Medals in both the 10K and Half Marathon distance.  Dawn placed 12th female overall in the Tokyo Marathon, 15th American at the 2019 Boston Marathon, , 12th American at the New York Marathon and is the 2017 Masters National Champion at the California International Marathon.  She is an Indoor National Qualifier in the 800m, 2015 Dallas Half Marathon Champion, 2015 & 2016 Texas Big Star Half Marathon Champion.  Dawn was chosen as the Dallas Female Runner of the Year in 2012 by Clines Running Corner.

About Dawn…

• Dawn grew up in Green Bay, WI with 5 brothers.
• She is a huge PACKERS fan!
• She started running the sprints (50m, 100m, 200m) in the 8th grade to socialize with friends and because she loved to run!
• Dawn attended Green Bay East High School and went on to become an 8- time City and Conference Champion and placed 4th at the Wisconsin State meet in the mile.
• She received a full college scholarship to Texas Tech University to run track & cross country. Dawn finished her college career at the University of Houston.
• In college, she was a NCAA qualifier in the 1500 meters and the Conference Indoor Mile Champion.
• Dawn graduated Cum Laude in Interdisciplinary Studies and went to graduate school to study business at UALR.
• She taught 3rd/4th grade for ten years and started competing professionally in 2011.
• She has a husband named Harry and a 105 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback named Gunnar.
• Her favorite food is sushi and she loves to travel to new places.
• Dawn thinks that your education is the number one most important gift you can give yourself.
